The Alumni and Development Coordinator role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to community engagement initiatives by developing relationships with alumni and existing partners to support our programs and research.
Curtin alumni are individuals who have completed their studies at Curtin University and have moved on to pursue careers or further education. They form a valuable network of graduates across the globe who have benefited from their time at Curtin and are vital stakeholders who can contribute to supporting the University's mission and vision.
We're seeking a creative and dedicated individual to join our team and collaborate on various exciting projects. In this role you’ll be instrumental in the development and delivery of flagship alumni engagement activities including the Alumni Awards and Young Alumni programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement and manage programs, including alumni engagement activities, communications, annual giving and/or bequests, as required, to help drive the alumni and community relations strategy
- Ensure all work is meaningfully focused on building an engaged alumni community and increasing alumni and staff donor participation
- Develop effective communication plans and write and coordinate purposeful communications across a range of platforms for target audiences
- Proactively work to build and nurture strong relationships with alumni and stakeholders through one-to-one and mass engagement
- Proactively contribute to University Advancement goals, adopt best practice standards and adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the highest possible standards of professional and personal conduct, modelling the University’s Values and Signature Behaviours.
Who we are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement and/or community-based fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability to create, develop and manage programs, events and initiatives to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with well-developed relationship management skills which contribute to the values, goals and objectives of the role and promote a positive team culture.
- Demonstrated professional writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and timely communication materials, for diverse, multi-cultural audiences.
- Demonstrated experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and independently, using initiative to resolve issues in a customer-focused environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to network and develop and nurture relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines, while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
