Assistant Development Engineer

The Package: $79,604.72 - $87,963.20 gross per annum + 10% super. (Evaluated as Grade 13 of the QPRC Salary System 2021).

Position includes a lease back vehicle and 3.5% civil liability allowance.

Full time – 35 hours per week. Flex time conditions may apply.

The position of Assistant Development Engineer sits within the Natural and Built Character Portfolio of the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council and is responsible for the delivery of civil engineering works during subdivision and development.

Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

• Undertake assessment of development applications for their requirement to meet the requirements of the State Environmental Plan for Infrastructure Local Environmental Plan, Development Control Plan and Councils Development Engineering Design and Construction Specifications.
• Supervise the construction of Civil Infrastructure in the delivery of development conditions of consent.
• Inspect, assess, and approve Section 68 (local government act) and Section 138 (Roads Act) approvals.
• Provide development engineering advice to internal and external stake holders.
• Contributing constructively to culture of health and safety within the Council.
• Provide support to the branch as required within the training and skill levels of the position.
