Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Description:

A new opportunity has arisen for a senior Registered Nurse to join the management team of the 30-bed medical and surgical ward, along with the 3-bed high dependency unit, at a private hospital in Melbourne. This night duty position provides 57 hours per fortnight for suitable candidates.

About The Role

As an ANUM, your responsibilities will include:
 

• Providing leadership and direction to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital;
• Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care;
• You will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels;
• You will undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced nursing team members.
   

REQUIREMENTS
 

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse;
• At least 5 years of experience in acute surgical nursing;
• Post-graduate certificate desirable though not essential;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required;
• Availability to work across a rotating, 7-day roster including night shifts.
