  This newly-created exciting role has come available due to growth and the company success.
  
  Claims Consultants are responsible for the end-to-end assessment and management of a claim, including allocating and negotiating with suppliers, therefore you will actively contribute to the team’s success with:
• Experience working within a claim’s authority framework, including claim decision making
• Majority of claims are related to Strata property, therefore claims management experience is important and can consider end to end property claims experience (domestic or commercial) however Strata experience is definitely preferred.
• As this role is responsible to manage a portfolio of end to end claims assessment and management, expertise in negotiating fair and reasonable claims outcomes is critical
• Provide feedback to Underwriters on claims and underwriting issues arising from claims
• Actively allocating claims and dealing with suppliers daily
• 
  You will need:
• Claims Consultant/technical insurance skills in accordance with the NIBA Code of Conduct, RG146 requirements, and industry claims standards including:
  • Legislative obligations
  • Product knowledge and understanding
  • Claims processes
• Experience with interpreting and applying commercial and residential policy wordings
• Experience in managing claims including making claims decisions
• Literacy in technology with the ability to use different computer programs
• Insurance products – ability to comprehend and interpret insurance policy wordings and relevant legislation
• Prepare documentation such as denial letters and IDR submissions as required
• Validate and determine new claims coverage
• Following internal company policy for claims guidelines and the General Insurance Code of Practice to ensure compliance
