Join a high-performing team that powers strategic decision-making and drives performance at one of Australia’s leading telecommunications providers. We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Commercial Manager to join the Commercial Finance team at Optus.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll partner closely with business leaders across our Customer Facing Units – Consumer, Business, Enterprise, Wholesale, and Satellite – delivering insights and strategic support that help shape the future of our products and services.

You’ll report to a Commercial Director and work in tandem with a Commercial Finance Business Partner aligned to a specific product or segment. Your role is both hands-on and leadership-driven – setting the standard for financial planning, performance analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Your Impact
 

• Contribute to setting the strategic roadmap to meet Market Share, Service Revenue, EBITDA, and ROIC targets.
• Lead the design, development, and delivery of robust, driver-based forecast and budget models.
• Analyse and interpret weekly and month-end results, communicating key insights through flash summaries and stakeholder-ready presentations.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, ensuring business decisions are grounded in robust analysis.
• Drive performance deep-dives and Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs), turning data into actionable insights.
• Develop strong, trusted relationships with business partners, offering commercial direction and critical financial guidance.
• Ensure internal controls are fit for purpose across both financial and operational processes.
   

What You'll Bring
 

• A university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience in finance or commercial roles – ideally in telecommunications or a similar industry.
• Expertise in Excel modelling and TM1.
• Understanding of mobile, fixed-line, and satellite product trends and technologies.
• Solid grasp of the Australian regulatory environment and competitive telco landscape.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to prioritise, negotiate, and manage competing objectives.
• A proactive and impartial mindset, committed to driving commercial excellence.
