We follow the evidence and are respected for our independence and rigour in work that spans mobility, planning, economic development, equity and fairness, resilience and culture. We don’t take sides politically, but we do argue a strong case.

Desirable criteria

• 3-5 years’ experience in media and communication, with a track record of placing significant media stories and using email and social media to shape public conversation
• Experience delivering communications aimed at changing public policy, public perceptions or starting conversations about big issues facing society
• Experience making content, from social shares and op-eds to event collateral
• Either know our key platforms (Wordpress, Salesforce, Campaign Monitor, Canva) or up for learning on the job
• Work fast and write well, with attention to detail, a bent for problem solving, and a record of taking hold of projects and delivering
• Passionate, pragmatic and hungry to make an impact, professional and people like working with you, takes direction and feedback well and is prepared to give good constructive feedback
• Relevant experience and a drive to continually develop skills – formal qualifications matter less than experience
• Above all, passionate about Sydney and excited to be part of its future.
