Contract Manager

 

Description:

They are seeking a Contract Manager on a permanent basis to join their Commercial and Legal team based in Macquarie Park. In this key role, you’ll drive commercial success and compliance by providing expert contractual support, maximising project profitability, and implementing robust contract administration processes. You’ll champion an ethics-driven culture, review tender agreements, develop contract qualifications, and contribute to operational excellence, making a tangible impact on our high-profile projects.

 

You will:

 

  • Be a key contact for subcontractors and suppliers, expertly negotiating commercially advantageous terms to drive project success.
  • Oversee contract management, developing strong customer and supplier relationships while ensuring seamless communication on contractual matters.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Project, Operations, and Procurement teams, advising on contractual rights, obligations, and liabilities.
  • Ensure all subcontractor and supplier agreements align with optimal terms, safeguarding project integrity.
  • Lead process improvements and implement standardised methodologies to enhance efficiency and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with project delivery teams to uphold contractual rights while meeting obligations, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Support the preparation of compelling bids and proposals, maintaining commercial integrity and compliance with all relevant policies and legislation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate commercial risks, developing effective strategies and reporting progress.

 

About you:

 

  • Tertiary degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract management, with a keen ability to interpret, review, and administer complex contracts with precision.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills, evidenced by a history of securing commercially advantageous agreements.
  • Highly desirable experience in construction or infrastructure sectors, coupled with a strong understanding of project delivery processes and their integration with contract management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contractual documents and their effective application in fast-paced, dynamic project settings.
  • Exceptional relationship-building abilities, with a talent for fostering trust and collaboration with stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Proactive and results-driven, with a proven capacity to manage demanding workloads, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, adept at building trust, influencing outcomes, and upholding confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Articulate communicator, skilled at simplifying complex concepts into clear, persuasive verbal and written communications.
