Data Engineer

Description:

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in a data-driven decisions, handling a variety of Business-As-Usual (BAU) activities and contributing to smaller business improvement projects. Your main responsibilities will include:

Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.

SSRS Reporting: Leverage your experience in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to create informative and visually appealing reports that drive decision-making across the organization.

Azure Services: Showcase your strong proficiency in Azure integrations, to build and manage data solutions, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.

SQL Expertise: Apply your in-depth knowledge of On-Prem SQL to maintain and optimise our on-premises database systems.

Polybase Proficiency: Utilise your expertise in Polybase to seamlessly integrate and query data from diverse sources, ensuring efficient data processing.

Your proven skills and certifications to be successful

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on Polybase and SSRS.
• Strong expertise in Azure services, with a track record of Azure integrations.
• Adept at handling both BAU activities and smaller business improvement initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for optimizing data processes.
• Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
