Data Governance Analyst

Description:

Our client is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join their Melbourne-based team. Reporting into the Data Governance Lead, you will work closely with business and technology teams to assist in the roll out of the data governance framework as well as uplift the maturity of data governance within the organisation. With a focus on educating business users on data governance and leading committees you will also assist in improving data quality and data management capabilities within the function and on an enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data governance policies and practices.
• Work across a range of projects to ensure that data governance activities are effectively executed.
• Act as a key representative of data governance in project meetings and with key stakeholders.
• Identify data owners and stewards, ensuring clear accountability and data management responsibilities.
• Develop registers and templates for metadata and data mapping.
• Promote data governance principles across the organisation.
• Educate business stakeholders on data governance practices and the importance of data quality.
• Assist in rolling out the data governance framework and ensuring its adoption across the organisation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in data governance, data management, or data stewardship roles.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Experience working in financial services and/or consulting
• Ability to build strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a high level of experience in working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Experience developing data governance processes, standards, and policies.
• Understanding of data glossaries and dictionaries.
