Financial Accountant

This role will be based in Kmart's National Office in Mulgrave.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Financial Accountant at Kmart, you will:
 

• Create and review periodic financial statements and reports – assisting with the preparation of monthly, half yearly and annual financial results including reporting requirements to Wesfarmers
• Ensure all accounting policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements are adhered to
• Preparation of month end journals and financial reconciliation in a timely manner
• Preparation of survey/statistics information
• Identify financial risks and opportunities for the business and provide insights on relevant risk mitigation
• Actively participate in finance related project work as required
  
   

To be successful in this team you will have:
 

• 2-3 years’ experience in a mid-large scale corporate business with a good understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in the use of Financial Systems (i.e. SAP), including completing ledger reconciliations
• Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
• Strong computer software skills, including advanced knowledge and use of Excel
• Ability to drive improvements and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional customer focus
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
