Financial Accountant

Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and analytical Financial Accountant to join a busy wholesaler organisation located in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches. They are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the accounting space. This could be an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for a step up or a Financial Accountant looking to further their experience. This is a full-time permanent role.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the main responsibilities include:
 

• • Preparing weekly cash flow reporting
  • Preparing month end close including general journals and
  • Maintaining FAR, including monthly reviews, additions and disposals
  • Monthly BAS lodgment and Bi-monthly NZ GST return
  • Preparing the data required for PTRS half yearly
  • Preparation of annual FBT
  • Assisting the Finance Controller and CFO to ensure the timely and accurate compilation of group accounting standards, responding to financial inquiries by collecting and interpreting data
  • Posting payroll journals and preparing taxable wages report
  • Examining financial records to check for accuracy
  • Liaising with external auditors in collating requested information during the annual audits
  • Managing and training staff when necessary
• A degree in Accounting
• Having achieved or working towards CPA/CA Qualifications (Nice to have)
• Exquisite attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Intermediate Excel skills (V-lookup & Pivot Table)
• Ability to work within a team environment
