Financial Controller

Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our leading national FMCG food manufacturing client based Brisbane.

This is a highly technical and hands-on role ensuring regulatory financial compliance, management & execution of the internal audit function, liaising with external tax & audit partners and striving for best practice.

About the role:

Managing a small team and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will see you performing a wide range of responsibilities with variety:

Key responsibilities:

• Cash flow management and forecasting, including preparing and updating daily cashflow forecast
• Treasury management and facilitating drawdown from facilities
• Supervision of EOM close and reporting timetable
• Accounts payable management, including review and authorisation of supplier payments in terms of company policies
• Ownership of the General Ledger and associated month-end reconciliations
• Managing the year-end audit process, including preparing year-end files and supporting schedules and Statutory Accounts
• Preparation of supporting tax schedules and other supporting documents for tax professionals
• Review of management accounts and preparation of variance analysis
• Mentoring and developing staff

Key skills required:

• Qualified Accountant – CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA or ACAEW
• Can demonstrate commercial business acumen
• Strong technical accounting skills & experience eg audit and tax in Australia
• Have strong communication & reporting skills
• Is confident with financial & data analysis
• Stakeholder management
• Big 4 experience will be highly regarded
