Human Resources Officer

 

Description:

As a Human Resources Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation’s growth by recruiting, onboarding, and retaining a skilled and values-driven workforce. You will manage HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment law and NDIS requirements, and support continuous improvement in HR practices. Your responsibilities will include coordinating recruitment and induction, facilitating learning and development, supporting employee relations, and assisting with performance management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing recruitment processes from position advertising to onboarding
  • Supporting HR policies, compliance, and record-keeping
  • Coordinating training and development initiatives, including mandatory NDIS modules
  • Providing advice on employee relations and workplace matters
  • Assisting managers with performance appraisals and probation reviews

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or working towards)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR or administration, preferably within NDIS or community services
  • Familiarity with Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards (e.g. SCHADS), and NDIS workforce compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organisation, and discretion
  • Proficient with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and recruitment tools
  • Current National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s licence preferred
