We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Dispute Resolution team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Joining a high performing team of Legal Assistants, you will have an opportunity to play a lead role in our support team, identifying areas where you can be involved to provide outstanding service to the legal team and their clients.
Key responsibilities
- Managing diaries and appointments including travel coordination, liaising with Chambers, Clerks and Counsel
- Editing, drafting and preparing correspondence and legal documents
- Preparing and editing spreadsheets, reports and PowerPoint presentations
- Preparing Briefs for Counsel/other experts
- InfoTrack searching
- Proactively managing the team’s finance requirements including opening matters and conflict checking, trust requirements, accounts payable, audit letters, billing (including eBilling) and reporting
- Managing all general administrative requirements including telephones, electronic and hard copy filing, mail etc.
About you
- Background in legal administration, and seeking a career in legal support; or a law student with a minimum of 2yrs remaining in your legal studies, who has the skill set to provide a high level of legal administrative support
- Energetic, enthusiastic, team player committed to providing a high level of administrative support
- Organised and efficient and is enjoys working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Knowledge of Elite or other finance related software to manage expenses, matters, timesheets, client billing and reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Outlook to organise and manage contacts, mail and calendars
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce high quality documentation.
