About the Firm

My client is a growing alternative law firm with offices in major cities in Australia and also in New Zealand and London. They act for leading listed and unlisted companies.

They have eliminated time sheets and billable targets and have moved to a 100% fixed fee model. They form long term relationships with clients and become their trusted advisers.

They also have a non-hierarchical structure and treat their lawyers as adults. There is no requirement to come into the office a certain number of days per week, which means you can work from home as little or as much as you would like.

About the Position

My client has created a new role for an experienced litigation lawyer, which can be based out of Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. In the role, you will report to a senior litigation lawyer with over 16 years of experience. You will work on debt recovery, asset recovery and general commercial litigation matters. You will appear at various levels of court, including the Magistrate’s Court, Supreme Court and Federal Court.

About You

You are a litigation lawyer who can work independently but also collaborate and work in a team. You will also have a friendly personality with no ego, and can work in a flat non-hierarchical structure. You also work well under pressure in a fast pace and agile environment. As well, you enjoy talking to clients and forming long term relationships with them.

Qualifications

We are seeking someone with:

• 7+ years of post-admission experience
• Experience in commercial litigation, including debt recovery.
• Experience in multiple jurisdictions across Australia.
