Nurse Unit Manager

Description:

This role requires a visible and accessible Nurse leader to suppot the operational, professional and clinical service management.

Northern Health's Chest Pain Evaluation Unit, is a 12 bed short stay unit to support flow and facilitate timely access to care for patients by providing a dedicated area for the cardiology team to assess and treat appropriate patients within a timely manner. The length of stay will be up to 12 hours with a cap of 18hrs for those patients identified as able to be discharged directly from the unit.

• Demonstrates commitment to high quality, safe and person-centred patient care
• High level of understanding of ED key performance indicators both at State and organisational level
• Demonstrated competence in people management
• Ability to manage in a complex and challenging operational environment
• Well-developed problem-solving skills
• Postgraduate qualifications in emergency nursing, critical care or equivalent
• Senior Registered nurse experience at CNS or ANUM level, with minimum 5 years clinical experience in critical care or emergency nursing
