In addition to those with prior experience in Corporate Tax, we also encourage applications from those with Private Advisory (Business Services) experience who want to deepen their expertise in technical taxation matters and work with large-scale corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Research and assistance with tax consulting advice (such as tax consolidation, tax treaties, hybrid mismatches, Controlled Foreign Companies, withholding taxes, thin capitalisation, permanent establishments, AMITs etc.)
  • Preparation of company and trust tax returns, including consolidated company tax returns, for a wide range of large corporate clients
  • Preparation and review of tax-effect accounting calculations
  • Research and assistance with preparing advice and calculations in connection with international tax issues
  • Assist clients with M&A activities, including tax structuring and tax due diligence services
  • Assist clients with ATO reviews, governance matters and audits, as well as liaising with the ATO to obtain rulings for clients
  • Research and analysis of technical tax issues and preparation of tax reports
  • Assistance with business development initiatives and proposals, including preparing for and attending meetings with clients
     

Required

Skills and experience
 

  • Tertiary and / or professional qualification(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)
  • Previous tax accounting experience gained within a professional services environment, as well as a keen interest in technical tax issues
  • Analytical skills and an inquisitive mindset, with a desire to deeply understand clients’ businesses, challenges and confidence in applying knowledge to routine matters
  • Demonstrable strong work ethic and commitment to excellent client service
     

Desirable
 

  • Professional accreditation(s) such as CA, CPA, CTA or equivalent overseas certification(s)
