Description:
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Senior Investment Analyst to support major strategic, commercial, and investment projects. The role focuses on developing reusable, user-friendly financial models and analytical tools to enhance investment decisions. You will not be involved in corporate performance reporting or financial systems planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review project cost estimates with planners using Sydney Water costing methodology.
- Build and maintain structured Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models in Excel for cost, revenue, land tax, and income tax projections.
- Provide insights on key financial drivers, risks, and conduct sensitivity analysis.
- Advise project managers and coordinate feedback with the project evaluation Assurance Team.
- Develop costing and pricing models for Unregulated Products and Services (e.g., recycled water, renewable energy).
- Contribute to improving costing, evaluation, and business case development tools.
- Provide financial and commercial analysis for strategic investment decisions, including executive, board papers, and government submissions.
Experience & Skills
- Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance (CPA/CA not required).
- Experience in advisory/consulting, investment banking, or large asset-intensive organisations (utilities, energy, telecommunications).
- Background in financial assessments and business valuation (ideally infrastructure projects).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Independent and proactive in managing tasks with a focus on delivering insights.
