Reporting to the Manager – Health, Safety & Security, you will provide essential health business partnering support across a diverse customer group. The successful candidate will be proactive and engaging, focusing on partnering with and coaching operational leaders on occupational health-related matters and delivering key health activities that support a healthy workforce.
In This Role, You Will
- Support CMWs who become injured or ill at work through an effective return-to-work approach in line with BHP and workers' compensation requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in injury prevention and injury management activities.
- Maintain health reporting and execute data integrity and governance activities.
- Foster relationships with medical and allied health providers.
- Coordinate and execute the Rehabilitation and Return to Work requirements for our people.
- Offer specialist expertise on health-related risks to enhance our business health management capability.
- Contribute to and execute the strategic management of health-related issues, provisions, and initiatives across our business.
- Develop and implement evidence-based health improvement strategies to effectively manage the health of our people.
- Stay informed and compliant with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain legislative and business health data, records, reporting requirements, and communications.
- Understand and apply legislative health reporting and injury and illness classifications, utilizing company standards and OSHA reporting guidelines.
- Support the design, management, and improvement of health-related systems, processes, and resources.
- Engage and communicate effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

You Will Also Have
- Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline (e.g., Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) are highly desirable.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within the mining or related industry.
- Working knowledge of relevant health-related legislation across Queensland and experience in coordinating workers' compensation case management.
- Experience delivering health strategies and injury and illness prevention initiatives.
- Commitment to coaching, influencing, and encouraging a mentally healthy workforce.
