Surgeon Senior Staff Specialist

Description:

Provision of elective and emergency paediatric surgical care, encompassing delivering operating theatre lists, reviewing patients in the outpatient department, reviewing patients in the emergency department and within the in-patient wards

• Out-of-hours responsibilities, including participation in the paediatric surgical middle grade oncall rota where applicable
• Consultants and other members of the Paediatric Surgery Department
• Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of paediatric general surgery and urology.
• To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of both elective and emergency patients within the Paediatric Surgery Department.
• Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and specialist nursing staff.
• To actively participate in both departmental and hospital matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
• To actively participation in continuing medical education (CME).
