Barrington Public School is a small rural school situated on Worimi/Biripi Country in the village of Barrington. We have a current enrolment of 47 students. 17% of our students identify as Aboriginal.

The school culture is that of inclusion and belonging with students, staff and the wider community working together to promote school excellence. A committed and dedicated team of SASS (School Administrative Support Staff) and teaching staff work collaboratively to ensure the best educational and social-emotional wellbeing outcomes for our students.

There is a strong focus on positive community involvement and the school is well supported by an active P&C (Parent &Community). We build nurturing authentic relationships with students and their families so that all students feel known, valued and cared for. We continue to build strong relationships with our neighbouring small schools.

• Approval to teach infants and primary K-6 with a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs utilising evidence-based pedagogy across multi-stage classrooms.

• Demonstrated capacity to collate, interpret and use data to analyse student progress, in collaboration with staff, to reflect on and develop teaching practices that aim to improve student outcomes.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills to work as a highly effective and collaborative member of the staff team, using reflective processes, feedback and quality professional dialogue, to support whole school improvement.

• Excellent classroom management processes while fostering a culture of high expectations, inclusion and a focus on student well-being.

• A willingness to teach choir and music if required.

• Commitment to and understanding of Aboriginal education and demonstrated capacity to develop and implement culturally appropriate learning experiences to foster genuine partnerships with students, families and the wider community.
