Team Leader

We currently have opportunities for Team Leaders to join us working in an inclusive team environment within the Nelson Point Fixed Plant Maintenance Team . The expectation is that you will be a skilled communicator with proven people management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

You’ll contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and will be an innovative thinker with a strong head for business and budget management, experience in a similar role is essential we are looking for a people leader who considers the big picture and bring their perspective to our operations. Conducting all task in safest manner possible in line with BHP Charter Values, BHP Policies/ Procedures, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor your duties will include:
 

• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Catastrophic Risk Management (CRM) and ensure controls are in place, including the verification of all Safe Work Procedures
• As a S26 statutory Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations in accordance with your appointment
• Ensure operational discipline in 1SAP Work Management practices.
• Assist in delivering planned maintenance to drive a safe and reliable plant
• Continuous improvement of systems and processes are core priorities to enable effectiveness and efficiency
• Assit the Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor to coach and mentor team members to deliver on plan and build a high performing team
• Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
   

About You

Our successful candidate will have the following:
 

• Electrical Trade qualification & WA A Grade Licence - essential
• HV Switching Ticket – desirable
• Have a proven track record of safety management
• Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
• Have previous experience leading a small team
• S26 Electrical statutory Appointment, experience or have the ability to obtain
• Has great communication and relationship management skills
• Has a high skill level in 1SAP Work Management processes, Microsoft Suites
• Minimum of C class manual driver’s license
